where in this article does it say that the elderly will be moved to make room for lofts? this appears to be a white knight riding in to save the corby and to keep it as a community/assisted living facility. WIN/WIN for everyone.

as to the question of the money being taken from city employees? come on guys. if this city can do Anything to broaden its tax base, then it is a good thing. it is hard for everyone right now, but this is protecting the past with an eye towards economic stability in the future.

GO FOUTCH. another building deemed not salvageable due to maintenance costs will be saved.

A note from the poll writer:
You're correct about the elderly, Heritage. The elderly are not being asked to move out, according to today's article. My mistake in the original version of the poll answer.

I think that is wonderful, it's such a great building and is so nice inside. We have attended a couple events there and was sure enjoyable plus the room was so nice & big with lots of sunlight.
I cann't imagine how stressful it would be for the residents and their family's to try and find a new place to move. I know how hard it is for younger family's to find a place, packup and move and then to get settled in again.

I am not commenting on whether it is good or not i am not familiar with issue enough to have an opinion. I do have an opinion on the lofts. they are like living in a basement. exposed duct work all plumbing pipes showing and concrete floors. I understand it may be the cool thing for awhile. just not my cup of tea. part of the reason i moved back was to get away from the big city atmosphere. I like the small town and houses. I worked on their project across from the police station. unskilled tradesmen and very shotty work. almost moved their glad i didn't. At that time I was forunate enough to rent a nice house in a great neighborhood for less than the apartment. But to each their own, in big cities everyone is stakced upon each other and i needed elbow room. I feel that moving out of the big cities was the best thing i ever did. so enjoy your town as it is very nice.
