Do you have a problem with San Francisco gazillionaire Paul Pelosi owning the Redwoods, a UFL pro football team? The Paul Pelosi, husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi? The Nancy Pelosi, third in line in the Presidential progression? The Nancy Pelosi who inserted special funding and payroll provisions for StarKist Tuna in the stimulus bill? The StarKist Tuna company whose major owner is Paul Pelosi? Where is MSNBC and Olberman on this?
SUMMARY: Email rumor claims Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has arranged special legislative favors for StarKist Tuna's parent company Del Monte Foods because the latter allegedly contributed to her political campaigns and her husband allegedly owns StarKist stock.
The reason the stock ownership remains characterized as "unsubstantiated" is that Ms. Pelosi refuses to disclose specific financial holdings as required by the House ethics rules and instead just "revealed" a broad dollar range of unspecified holdings.
The Pelosi football team ownership and the special worker minimum wage exemption for the Samoan StarKist operation is without challenge.
If she is guilty of accepting donations in return for political favors it wouldn't surprise me. I'm not so deluded with party politics that I think politicians can't be bought. My point is that the rumor about Starfish is just that, a rumor.
grandpacory-some people just want to believe all that BS from the right and not you or anybody else can get them to see the truth. They believe if they scream it loud and long enough we will believe them.

Description: Email rumor
Circulating since: Nov. 2008
Status: Unsubstantiated
Unsubstantiated doesn't mean "false".....
Snopes is biased, found that out and that is truth. They are liberal so I do not believe what they post!
in the same way synonymous doesn't mean equivalent in context?
It's useless to quote any media source because they are 'all in the pocket for Obama' or too liberal or too fact-based, but against futility I run.

I meant to say Starkist, not Starfish.

Pelosi is a principle owner of StarKist....PERIOD
Starkist got a Veeeeeeeeeery substantial "gift" of taxpayer money from the stimulus package
Starkist got a sweetheart deal on minimum wage from the Congress of the United States....the same one that N Pelosi is a principle manipulator
You can argue all day whether any of this is "politics".
go figure

That nauseous spinning feeling caused by cyclical statements makes it seem like we're on an squeaky merry-go-round.
