Greg Kozol has been with the St. Joseph News-Press since 1994. He covered numerous reporting beats before becoming business editor in 2002 and assistant city editor in 2006.

Before coming to St. Joseph, he worked at small newspapers in Iowa and Nebraska.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His wife, Jess, is also a journalist. They have a daughter and three cats.

Anonymous critiques are a staple of the online world, but St. Joseph Mayor Ken Shearin is eager to cast light on one corner of the local blogosphere. Namely, is City Manager Vince Capell the anonymous writer who, under the pen names “citizenman” and “GuidoSarducci,” attacked public officials and others who posted comments on the Web version of the St. Joseph News-Press? Mr. Capell isn’t talking, but Mr. Shearin is concerned enough to send a public memo to Mr. Capell and eight City Council members asking the city manager to address the allegations and apologize if he indeed was the author.
