If St. Joe didn't exist, I'd have to invent it.

Nice to see my favorite post-modernist minstrel show is out and about. I'd just like to know who the brave and charitable souls are who are doing the typing for them.

A fine letter it is, but I'd like to remind Mr. Russell that if it hadn't been for Columbus, Mr. Russell wouldn't be here writing fine letters to this fine newspaper.

A simple solution to this feud: a good old-fashioned cage match! Yes, let them at it and sell tickets! It will provide true entertainment and fill the city coffers from the ticket sales. In addition, the revenues will continue to pour in as I'm sure there would be endless rematches. While the rest of the country slides into finanacial chaos, we will be a bright shining light! Really! I wouldn't lie to you!

So let's all pull together and go with St.Joe or some other catchy slogan!

I'm just glad someone is here, posting away with gusto, to point out that maruading hordes of black people are rampaging in the streets at 5am doing whatever they want. Or is it rampaging hordes of black people marauding? Then they have the audacity to accuse stalwarts who post here of racism. No wonder the very foundations of our fine community are crumbling and each day we more resemble Harlem or Bogata or Moscow or one of them thar places.

Personally (and as a non-black person) I walk down the middle of the street at 4am instead of 5am because I know Officer Friendly is napping at that time. To allow him uninterrupted slumber is the least I can do to help law enforcement.

Dr. Pilgram, would you consider running for Senate next year? Senator Bond rides into the sunset, leaving his seat vacant and, unfortunately, Roy Blunt is on the horizon.

You seem an intelligent and honest man, Dr. Pilgram. That means you're desperately needed in Washington.

And to think, just less than a year ago the intrepid Congressman Blunt had no concern about any pesky checks and balances. I wonder what happened! Good to see Old Roy on top of things. Let's all hope he doesn't fall off, otherwise I think I can safely predict we'll all be faced with one whopper of a hospital bill.

No, he_who_opines_behind_anonymity, I have no problem with it whatsover! In fact, if you didn't exist, I'd have to invent you.

Darn! I thought that International Jewish Conspiracy had gone away! My thanks to Mr. Guenther for letting us know it's still around! Perhaps he can offer advice on how to protect our womenfolk from these insidious predators!

Meanwhile, I'd like Mr. Guenther to autograph my copy of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" (published in Berlin circa 1938 and given to me by a family member who fought his way from Normandy to Germany, where he liberated it). In turn, I'll be glad to donate the book to the News Press archives, where it will be of value to scholars for generations to come. No need to thank me. I'm always glad to help you people out.
