Rk, I was being facetious about the whole I think thing…. If you read a little before that the statement I made about getting two differing stories and the truth being somewhere in the middle. I never said a word about the east side of town either I said Fredrick, did not say where on Fredrick point is I see it all the time. While, I will readily agree I do not think this was one of Mr. Weston’s greatest stories I think he did a very good job at not playing up either side of the story as well as sticking somewhere in the middle. And this was not the only story on the incident, on Tuesday there was an article as well, only it fell under the focus of our wonderful kindergarten bustle between our high ranking Mayor and City Manager. I do not believe that our police force is prejudice (most of them anyhow) I think they give all known criminals a hard time (as I have witnessed this) as well as people who push back. The police are taught to assess the situation and people’s attitudes are often how the police will approach someone. However, playing the devil’s advocate here I think that no one will ever know the truth but, the video put out not by Mr. Weston and posted on St Joe Now did show an interesting fact of where the tickets were issued. Let’s see a friend of mine lives more east in town the police caught the kids vandalizing near his house, the other night in this neighborhood someone with chains was taking a few whacks at cars never saw the police even though they were called, oh and then there was the whole spray painting incident and several other vandalism happenings in the neighborhood no police. In one neighborhood they look for the perpetrators, in another they catch them…. Why is that? I do think you were right in an earlier post “If you fear walking down a sidewalk in front of your home..MOVE!” I say we all move to where the money is so maybe the response time would be faster………………Looking for a roommate eastside?

Wow!! KKK....err mean rk ...most of your post are just plain idiotic so I will not even bother to address your comments. But, I live in the same area where the incident happened and I very well understand the apprehension as two and a half years ago a kid tried to rob me in broad day light and I laughed and told him he found the poorest white woman he had ever met, but something in this story is not adding up really. They say if you take both sides somewhere in the middle is where you will find the truth.
I am thinking that the officers in question treated Big Daddy with the same mentality they do the younger "thugs" and Big Daddy got a little ripped at that and made a smart tailed comment...... But, bottom line would be the police officers should use a little more common sense with people who are upstanding citizens and are trying to better this neighborhood and bottom line respect the officers no matter what but, ask politely for their badge number and name and file a complaint.
As well I work on Fredrick Ave and look forward to watching the officers of this fine city ticketing all the early or even midday white joggers and runners that are not utilizing the sidewalks in that neighborhood :)

Thank you for running this story, it is wonderful to know we still do care about the good people do today and not all the negative. The story mentioned the group will be making this a regular occurrence is there a way the public may be able to give the group support? Either by joining the delivery efforts or by donating needed items for the group to deliver?
