You know, I thought I wanted him executed too. I am all for capital punishment usually..... But now I think I'd like for him to rot away in prison, having many, many years to think about what he's done. I'm sure he thought he'd die in the process of killing all these people - let's not help him be a martyr for allah.

Pawlowski - what was the point of your jab at the christians? Yes, it was wrong to try to get more oranges than the sale allowed for, but no one is perfect, or without sin. So was that what you were trying to say in such a nebulous way?

I was watching the "Today" show this morning, and they were reporting on the fact that the President is discouraging Gov. Paterson of NY from running for re-election. They then showed a clip of GOP chairman Steele, commenting on the topic, questioning why the President would want to basically do away with one of "only 2 black governors" in the country. Here's my issue - what does it matter that Paterson is a black governor??!!! As has been said many, many times on this forum, as long as people keep talking about someone's color, the race issue will never go away. Bottom line, Obama is over-stepping his position by trying to get Paterson not to run, and it should make no difference what color the man's skin is.

I'm not sure the exact length of highway it covers, but I know between the cities of San Antonio and Austin, on I-35, trucks are only allowed in the right lane. Cars are also allowed in that lane, but only cars in the left lane. That stretch of highway is so heavily traveled, and while I have a good amount of repsect for truck drivers (TOUGH job), it's nice to have the trucks only in the right lane so that we cars can keep moving along nicely. Doesn't make any sense to put trucks in the left lane.

downing44 - you can't actually believe all this uproar is because he's black?! He's also WHITE!! The uproar is due to the fact that people don't like his politics, and has nothing to do with the color of his skin. As usual, pulling the race card. geez - get a clue dude.

My bad - I assumed St. Joe schools were equipped with AC. I guess back when I was attending Sherwood Elementary, there was no AC, and the windows were open, but at least the district had the good sense to start the school year after Labor Day.

Too hot for school?! Really?! I live in an area that's a heck of a lot hotter than St. Joe, and our kids started school today, and they're going all day long. That's silly to get out early just because it might be hot.

My 14 year old doesn't get anywhere near $35 a week allowance. In fact, he doesn't get allowance at all. What does a speeding/red light ticket have to do with 14 year olds anyway?

I would like to point out that all of you who want your right to NOT wear a helmet, or wear a seatbelt... regardless of the damage to your own body, consider the effect an accident could have on your loved ones. I lost my mom in the early 70's, when no one wore seatbelts. It is a life-changing experience for those left behind. And, even if there's no loss of life, what about a serious head injury, or major damage to your limbs (paralysis, etc)? Don't you care enough about the others in your life to take precautions to insure your safety? Just something to think about. In life, there are lots of other people to think about - - not just our selfish selves.
