Rathman gets life for son's death

Brownsugar, i have tried and was told trying to get anything changed is like banging my head against the wall. there are a lot of things that could be done, and things that could be put into place. another advocate, rene howitt, is targeting schools. she goes to schools and discusses the issues of child abuse. i have a cause on facebook called caden's voice, it lists the representatives, senators, office of the child advocate, etc. people you can write to, to discuss your concerns. please feel free to go and look at the links, and write.

Holliday plans return to office

mr. holliday works in one of the most political offices in this county. When he doesn't want to or doesn't believe a case should be prosecuted, he won't stand up to his boss, mr. scroggins, why would anyone believe that he would do anything different as a judge. mr scroggins has told his employees that the judges know who really runs the courthouse, so i guess that would be right on course having mr. holliday in that office.

Charges filed in infant death

Kwatson, i didn't mean to offend about ur nephew being arrested, i meant they didnt' arrest him for this charge, they arrested him on other warrants which could have been nothing more than not paying a parking ticket. someone i think mentioned earlier that he was arrested for this which isn't true.

Charges filed in infant death

unfortunately in this county u have no due process, it is charge first, figure out if it will stick later. this may or may not be an instance of child neglect, however if they are doing an autopsy they are not sure how the child died. maybe this is an instance of sids. however, if indeed the father was high and neglected the child or neglected to care for the child he should not only be charged with involuntary manslaughter but in addition he should be charged with child neglect. anytime a child dies, it is the most devastating thing a parent and the families can go through. by the way, he was arrested on other outstanding warrants, then charged in this case.

Guest column: Prosecutor responds to public defender 'crisis'

so Mr. Scroggins is so arrogant that he speaks for our judges now. he also obviously believes that both he and the honorable men who set on the bench in buchanan county can just ignore whatever decisions are passed down by our supreme court. maybe we should remember this on election day.

Parent complains about teacher's act

When my kids were in school, believe me, i didn't automatically side with my kids. however, one of my children and another boy were called welfare babies in front of the whole class. it doesn't matter what they did, although it was nothing more than whispering. now, my son was not on welfare, but how many kids were in that class that may have been thru no fault of their own. teachers do not call kids name. especially a 9 year. it doesn't matter what his father has done or hasn't done, all that matters is a person in authority, should never call a child stupid, ignorant, and sure as hell shouldn't give him a dictionary to read the meaning of the word out loud in class. how demeaning. and i wouldn't last a day probably teaching school, but that isn't what i went to school to do. the teacher that called my son the name asked the same question (she also had to apologize to my son and the other child in front of the class)

Missing evidence puts kink in Cox case

this isnt the first murder case this has happened on, believe me. as far as detective garland, someone didn't do their job, why was 2008 in with 2005, i don't believe just one man is responsible for this and amother is correct, it is the job of the prosecutor to get the evidence where it needs to be. when will everyone listen? when will anyone be proactive and find someone to run against dwight and clean out the pa's office? this tiny town is waaaaay to political for it's size, the buck doesn't stop with officer garland.
