MODem you are spot on. I have decided some of the commenters here are children. I know specifically one is. He is between 12 to 15 who thinks calling people who comment here names is funny.
Anyway wanted to say to Mr. Newton what a great article, I should have written that in my first comment, as was your piece you wrote about my son a few years back about "Reaching for the Stars." Thank you for keeping NASA in the news.
rkcubed you have it so right. I don't read this newspaper that much anymore but when told by one of my kids he was going to be quoted on his experience as an NASA employee I came here tonight to see what he had to say. You and he seem to being saying the same thing about the spinoffs. Many great technological advances for Americans that should be celebrated rather than denigrated.
That's my boy and he is absolutely right. The technology in the spin offs alone have been a huge boost to society and the economy. It is too bad that in the last several decades the NASA budget has been cut so much it is hard for them to achieve their goals. Keep up the good work Cooper and hopefully the Obama administration will see the importance of this great organization and will fund it with the money it deserves.
Well that makes a lot of sense to me. Make sure you only watch the poll that is biased in your ideological favor. Kind of like watching Fox News 24 hours a day or someone on the left believing the Daily Kos weekly tracking poll is the only poll out there to watch. In the words of the Wasilla Whacko "You betcha."
Since I am included in the 60 percent of America that thinks Obama "Rocks" and the 80 percent that think GWB was an idiot I feel pretty good in my opinion.
yea you wish!!!!! It would take years for that to happen. Most American's want our new President to succeed, Unless you are a racist and a xenophobe, comparing him to the idiot who ruled the last 8 years.
to suz_muse I say --- "Huh?????" I have no idea where that diatribe came from on my comment. My thought was that those who opine about morals and then break them are very fair game for criticism. It is called H-P-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y!
And that is on the left and the right like Eliot Spitzer, David Vitter, the "Drug Addict," Mark Foley, John Ensign, Larry Craig, Newt Gingrich, Ted Haggard and on and on and on.
Hypocrisy is the main reason it is different to rag on the "drug addict" than any other afflicted by this disease.
Quote from Mr. drug addict:
There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.
...We are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country.... This country certainly appears to be tolerant, forgive and forget. I mean, you know as well as I do, you go out and commit the worst murder in the world and you just say you're sorry, people go, "Oh, OK. A little contrition."... People say, "I feel better. He said he's sorry for it." We're becoming too tolerant, folks.
I find this letter hilarious since I spent eight years calling out the 4th estate during the years of Mr. 19% approval rating. I see now after about 5 months we will never come together in opinion anymore. I thought originally with the election of BHO we would all be singing happy songs and cum by ah because he pleaded for it in his 2004 Blue State Red State Speech.
I realize now it is never going to happen so I say to all those out there so afraid of Mr. Obama, get over it. I spent 8 years sick and afraid of your pick now you get to go through the same.
Science remains driving force of space exploration

I would love to see the whacko from Wasilla run against Obama. A guarantee that President Obama would prevail another four years.
