Act like adults, be responsible and wear your seat belts! If you decide NOT to be ready for the consequences, like a ticket, permanently debilitating injury, or worse, death. If you can prevent something, why not just do it? Are we so stupid that the state has to force us protect ourselves by buckling up? Are we not intelligent enough to do that on our own? Obviously not.

Umm, yeah, I think they meant to say east of St. Joseph. I saw the accident on my way back to Cameron.

I have been living in Cameron for the past 2 years and I have experienced no health problems. I also have drank the water for that period of time and experienced no ill effects. I use and have used a cell phone faithfully during that time. Again, no ill effects. I am not sure what is going on, but I hope the city will step up and do something about it, including owning up to the problem IF there is problem.

This is in response to the "Government Control" piece in the It's Your Call sections. The reason there might be a law requiring people to buckle up is if you are permanently disabled in some way from an auto accident and you didn't bother to wear your seat belt, the state and the taxpayers will be the ones paying your disability or medical care. Did anyone think of that?! You leave a simple, intelligent decision like this, up to people and they act like children. Refusing to wear a seatbelt because it wrinkles clothes or is uncomfortable. Seriously?! If you want to drive a car there is responsibility that comes with it. Wise up people and act like adults!

Before anyone runs out to by a bottle of the "Slim & Cleanse" plastered all over section A5 of the paper today, you might wanna check with your doctor. When I researched the topic on WebMD I read that your colon cleanses itself and that we don't have "impacted fecal matter". If you cleanse with a product like this you might remove the good bacteria needed by your colon! A large majority of the colon cleanse products are a gimmick and a scam. You want to lose weight? Change your eating and start exercising - its the oldest method, but its SURE to work. (Go to webmd.com and look up colon cleanse products or talk to your doctor.)

After reading the article "Accused pill-supplier's family speaks out" I was rather shocked at how the family responded. I find it hard to believe that he was unaware of what he was doing with all of the information students are given about drugs. With drugs being a larger problem than they were even 10 years ago, students are hit with a barrage of information about drugs and the consequences using brings. I was also shocked at how understanding his parents seemed. Will their seemingly "understanding" attitude make him unaware of the severity of what he did? I wonder if his family would have been tousling his hair in court if one or more of the girls had died due to his thoughtless actions.
