I suggest that the public stop using "out-siders"(those who never attend School Board meetings, PTA meetings, and other school activities). School people are, by nature (for the most part), dedicated to their task. They are professionally trained and have spent many years and thousands of hours to be QUALIFIED to be with your children for the purpose of helping them prepare for the world and their life. The childs first four or five years of life are mostly in the hands of the PARENT. The next twenty years or so, the parent remains active in the child's life through the assistance of the schools and others who are dedicated to providing focused assistance such as the church, boy scouts, swimming teachers and etc. I suggest you forget any past negative experiences with the school, and approach each year with positive attitudes so that the child does not carry your bad thoughts into the classroom. Some people have, indeed, been mishandled by schools...but rarely, I'm sure. Attend the meetings that are scheduled and try to know just who your teacher is. We are all human and, obviously not perfect in all that we do. But, I assure you, that TEACHER is your childs link to good health and happiness. You send that child to school each day with a positive, hopeful disposition into an e nvironment that is as safe as most all other places he ventures into, including the home. A delicious meal is provided at a lower cost than provided commercially. A degree that makes it possible for the TEACHER does not come cheap: A Masters take at least 6 years of their dedication of time, very hard work, and lots of money (all of that effort is not assurred of success-they must satisfy their TEACHER). The world needs some gradual getting acquainted with by the growing child for his prospect of happiness. You had your chance. THE CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE! I wish you well.

What did I write that was so wrong that it never received the "light of day"? Everything I referred to has been discussed in your paper or the TV. Very little of what I write is given to print by the News Press Please help me. If it is my Political Position differing from yours, I find that strange you being in the "FreePress".

Re "Dare to Compare" tele comment, St. Joe News on August 29. You should review your world History on how people achieve POWER over others. I suggest uou read The Rise and Fall of Adolph Hitler.Edition of 1972. Written by Schier. You shold find that Mr. Obama is following the same pattern, so far, as Hitler followed in the late 20's and 30's. So far 1. Bankrupting the country; 2. Interferring in Industry; 3.Bankrupting citizens, banks, mortgage companies, via the subprime,& no credit checks. 4. Incouraging neighbors to squeal on neghbors; 4. Catering to children;5. College Loans tied to 10 years service to Govt.6. Using forceful groups such as Acorn etc; and 7. Finding groups to control through legislation such as health of the citizen and Student Loans. He is changing our country to a Socialist State and deminishing the power of our Constitution via all these Czars. All of our Presidential Candidates, beginning in the 8o's were motivated to take us into the NEW WORLD ORDER. Presidents:Mr Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and now Obama all have had this secret agendas leading us into the NWO.

I hope this has been discussed. My concern over Obama's selection for the Supreme Court keeps me from from my naps. The Supreme Court numbers nine members. Appointed for life far beyond most human frailties. Airline Pilots, Who I rely on for a few hours, must give up their careers while in the prime of life. Why can'the Justices be members for 12 years and out? They affect the lives of each 330,000,000 of us. The nominee will possibly still be voting for the next 50 years...even though she has diabetes. Why should we have to take a chance on her making decisions on what the US Constitution means? She, based on her vocals, will make her decisions on how SHE FEELS ABOUT IT AT THE MOMENT! I believe that.
We have a lot of capable people out there who could render honest and fair decisions based upon our US Constition and the Mores of our Land tracing back to our beginning. We are Americans and not Socialist Europeans. I feel that Obama is misdirected in his being allowed to campaign for votes by using our tax dollars and appealling to certain voters by nominating this person.

South Side gets shafted once again: Agri Complex goes to-just shy of Andrew County; and now the access over the RR Tracks (at Alabama Street) are going to almost north of the viaduct. All that money could be applied to extending I-229 on south to eventually end south of Contrary Creek having exits an onramps at Alabama and Illinois ave.

Anyway MODot can shut down the exit at I-229 and MO 752 for 18 wheelers. They can exit near the Florence Rd. crossing. Five School Zones become safer, Hyde Park becomes safer, and the residential streets become safer and quieter.

I have three comments (Questions): 1.Why is the Stockyards Exchange Building being disregarded by the City, County and Citizens? It is the last of our most historic buildings. Others, much less historic, have all been saved.2. An Agriculture project is being planed by the County (just rumor). I hear it is being planned up north and west of the shopping complex up on N. 71 hwy. It being related to the agriculture industry long associated with the Southside and south of the viaduct, why is it not being considered close to the Stockyards Expressway? Why isn't this being discussed? 3. I am appalled at the residential streets in the southside being turned into such heavy truck traffic. I am referring to Mason road, Hyde Park, Alabama Street(all the way to the Lake),and Lake Ave. Huge trucks are passing within, sometimes as close as 15 feet of front porches, bedrooms, and livingrooms. These heavily travelled streets pass through the School Zones of SpringGarden, Benton, Hyde, Hosea, and lake Contrary. Why can't we extend I-229 to south of Contrary Creek with exits and on-ramps along the way. Especially at Alabama where the trains block passage 24 hours a day? To not do this is just waiting for a tradgedy to occur. Big trucks are driven by humans who can become incapacitated and Mechanical parts can fail. It happens all the time. I say the money is there to do this, it just requires a good reason. Branson got 15 years of MOdot money to build superhighways through solid rock.

I enjoyed being in the presence of Joe Biden. I think him an extraordinary person who values his role as Father and Parent. He is not a Secularist as many of his Colleagues.
I understood he was under severe time constraints and pressure to get on with his reason for being in St. Joe. 1st he immediately had to take his coat off due to heat and location allowed for him. A gym. poor accoustics, no air condition. It should have been turned on at 6:00 A.M. I didn't see a refreshing pitcher of water anywhere,
the steel chairs provided were antiques, wrinkled matting on the floor nearly tripped the elderly.
The audience felt they had to clap with every sound bite. They failed to recognize that he had to keep talking through all their noise. I missed half of his info. wtgsj.
